Common questions

ASIC & Company Secretarial FAQs.

What is an ASIC annual review?

Each year ASIC issues an annual statement showing the company's registered details. The company must review the statement, pay the annual review fee and confirm that the details are correct.

Can you act as my ASIC registered agent?

Yes. Where agreed, I can act as the company's registered agent and assist with receiving ASIC correspondence, annual reviews and routine company changes.

How quickly do company changes need to be lodged?

Many company changes must be notified to ASIC within a set period, commonly 28 days. Late lodgement fees can apply, so it is best to advise me as soon as the change occurs.

Can you help with director or shareholder changes?

Yes. I can assist with the ASIC lodgement and related company records. Some changes may also require legal documents or advice, particularly where ownership rights, disputes or complex arrangements are involved.

Do ASIC changes affect the accounts or tax returns?

Sometimes. Changes to shareholders, directors, addresses or share capital can affect the company records, financial statements, tax position or other registrations. I will flag any connected work that appears necessary.
